Globe View Cottage sits in a private spot looking down on Globe Cove
and Lubec’s small fishing fleet. The house is tucked away from the
road, down at the water’s edge for privacy. The cottage offers direct
access to the water and shore line, just a short stroll away. When
you are not out exploring the area’s hiking trails, nature preserves,
and activates, you can watch Lubec’s small fishing fleet working the
water, launch your kayak, or enjoy a scenic picnic on the deck
overlooking the harbor. The yard has charming gardens and driftwood
accents to please the senses and make you welcome. The cottage
interior is homey and casual, just right for a relaxing stay by the
ocean. The main living area has a wonderful picture window where you
will begin and end each day gazing at the islands, the sea, and the
lobster boats at your door step. When it gets too dark to watch the
water, you can relax with cable TV in the cozy living room. The
living room offers a fold out futon sofa for extra guests. The
kitchen is well equipped with ample cooking, serving, and dining
ware. The bedroom has a full bed with a single loft tucked above. The
cottage has a full bath and washer and dryer. Local phone service is
provided for your convenience as are all bed and bath linen. Children
and pets are welcome with an additional damage deposit and rental
surcharge.

activities and attractions in Lubec Maine
The Lubec area is host to three state parks, a national wildlife
refuge, and several nature preserves, all of which offer a variety of
well maintained hiking trails. Lubec has several sandy beaches (a
rarity this far Down East), bold coastal cliffs, coastal rain forest,
wildflower meadows, and peat bogs. Lubec’s West Quoddy Head
Lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the
country. Lighthouse lovers can visit 4 lighthouses within a 10 mile
radius of Lubec. Local whale, wildlife, and puffin tours offer the
chance to observe nature up close or you can rent a kayak or canoe to
explore both salt and fresh water havens. You can also golf, swim in
freshwater lakes, visit local galleries and craft shops, attend
concerts, and visit local festivals. The area is rich in history—from
the first naval battle of the Revolutionary to Maine's own "Cannery
Row" which lined the waterfronts of the Downeast coast. You'll find
it all here—rich history, spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and
friendly people.
